Repentance

We live in a world where many people don’t want to repent of sin. They come up with excuses or borrow excuses from the world. One of the first messages Jesus preached was on repentance. In Matthew 4:17 the Bible says, “From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.'” The word repent means to turn from sin to God. Repentance involves both an acknowledgement of sin and an ethical change in conduct for all people. Satan comes along and tries to convince us otherwise. We are called to repent. We are not saved by works, but by the grace of God and faith in Christ. Christ says to believe and to repent. Trust Him for Salvation and turn from sin to God. People will try to convince us otherwise, but Jesus said broad is the way that leads to destruction and many go that way. People have their agenda, but don’t be deceived by this world and those who do not obey Christ and repent. God’s Word is never overruled by the opinion of this world. Christ calls all to turn from sin and believe in Him for salvation.
